Snoopy 60 years in 2010

A lot of events have already taken place in the honor of Snoopy’s 60th birthday, and there are still many celebrations ahead!

The anniversary kickoff was during the Flower Parade ‘Bollenstreek’ which took place on the 24th of April of this year, where Snoopy was riding along in an open bus. Furthermore, The Space Expo in Noordwijk (www.space-expo.nl) is hosting an exhibition called ‘Snoopy in Space’, which is open for visitation until the end of this year. Snoopy can also be admired during the European Sand Sculpture Festival (www.europeansandsculptures.eu) in Noordwijk at Sea, which is entirely in the spirit of space travel. So, as of the 22nd of August, you will be able to find a complete Snoopy sand sculpture at the Noordwijk boulevard!

The Dutch comic museum in Groningen (www.stripmuseum.nl) has recently started the anniversary exposition ‘Peanuts’. In the meantime, Snoopy also pitched the first ball, guided by the parliamentary reporter Frist Wester, during the Haarlem Baseball Week, which was held last mid July. (www.honkbalweek.nl)

In June, an official visit to the hometown of Snoopy, Santa Rosa, California took place where Wavery Productions presented a hand painted Delfts blue plate to the Schulz family.

Two more important PR events are on the agenda for snoopy this coming fall; on Wednesday September 29th, Snoopy will, together with Rick the Frogg, celebrate his birthday in the theme park of Duinrell (www.duinrell.nl). On October 4th, also known as animal-day in the Netherlands, Snoopy will personally open the Amsterdam Euronext Stock Exchange day (www.euronext.com) on the Damrak in Amsterdam by hitting the famous gong.

All these unique events are all to celebrate this special anniversary and to commend snoopy a little extra!!
