Promotions
In promotions, a character is linked to a product for a certain period of time in order to boost sales or during the introduction of a new product. The product remains the same, but receives extra interest as a result of assigning an existing, familiar character. This could, for example, merely be printing an image on the packaging, but could also involve offering a free gift: a free booklet, a badge, a sticker or a figurine of a character. This type of character merchandising draws extra attention to the product for a short or a longer period and will thus contribute to increasing sales.
